Some people would say that geography should be celebrated every day of the year, but officially we celebrate National Geography Week during the third week of November (this year that means we will celebrate November 15-21). I thought I would share a couple of Geography-related sites so you could start to plan ahead! This year’s theme is Get Lost in Mapping: Find Your Place in the World.
My Wonderfull World.org - is the official National Geographic site (and National Geographic sponsors this geography-related event). The site features excellent information for parents, teachers, and students. Teachers can take advantage of National Geographic’s Geography Action! program. This year, your students can build a free wall-sized map of Europe or America right in their own classroom.
I have also created a portal site, WWW.World Report, that serves as a portal site for geographic information and specifically information about our states, foreign countries and World-wide news. Click on the screenshot below to access the site:
