Today would be a great day to reinforce or re-introduce the idea that including a healthy portion of vegetables in your diet is a good thing. Encourage your family and students to eat vegetables during each meal and snack today. Better still, try to to be a vegetarian for a day. By the way, did you realize this month is also National Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month? This is a great time of year to color your food palette! Click on the image below to access my Celebrate Health and Nutrition site, a site that features over 65 links to healthy eating and living resources. Then watch some veggie videos that could be shared with your students.

The following video features Eric Herman singing Crazy Over Vegetables…music you can play as you encourage youngsters to eat their vegetables…

You always seem to know when it is ‘Eat your Vegetables’ day or ‘Other’ interesting celebration days. You should publish a shared calender to help the rest of us teachers keep up with you. Great work and an awesome blog.
Thank you for your kind words, Shaun. It’s interesting you should mention the calendar idea. I used to publish an inquiry-based monthly calendar for teachers and students that featured 800+ online resources (each month!) tied to calendar events and celebrations. Then, I got a full-time job. Now that I am back to consulting, I am thinking about bringing back the calendar… wavering at this very moment.
Hey, nice post, very well written. You should write more about this.
I stumbled upon your blog when I was fulfilling a requirement for a Masters in Technology class that I am taking. As an elementary P.E. teacher, I didn’t expect to find anything useful for my curriculum. What a pleasant surprise to find the Eat Your Vegetables Day with the link to Celebrate Health and Nutrition. Great job and thanks!!
