I hope you enjoy the great resources and videos I discovered and bookmarked this week. In no particular order, I have listed my favorite top 10 sites, blog posts, and videos of the week below. Feel free to share your favorite finds of the week using the comment link found at the bottom of this post.

  1. This Man I Knew - Russel Tarr shared this touching video on Twitter. Anyone who has lost a parent or relative to Alzeheimers will appreciate this marvelous and touching video.
  2. Sadly, Fliggo has decided to disable the upload of videos (and will soon be merging Fliggo into Vidly), so I am currently looking for alternate video services. During my research I came across this lovely video: A Record of Life posted by Owen Gatley and Luke Jinks on Vimeo. Enjoy!
  3. Environment: The Onzone Layer - an interactive graphic on the ozone layer and effects of gases. The ozone layer protects the surface of the Earth by absorbing harmful ultraviolet rays.
  4. We the Teachers - a free website that combines both the resource aspect of teacher-focused sites, and the community aspect of social websites. Registration is required, collaboration and sharing is optional, but recommended. :)
  5. A Journey into Time Emmorial - this interactive Indian exhibit/learning experience was posted as a link recommendation on Twitter by Diana Dell. It is a marvelous activity that will provide many learning opportunities for students to learn about the lives of the Aboriginals. The site takes a bit of time to load, but it is well worth the wait!
  6. Here is another Vimeo find posted by Henrik Edelbring: Happiest Turtle Ever.
  7. I Play Math Games.com - The K-12 math games and activities available on this site are meant to be used to either support any math curriculum or just have fun with math!
  8. How Long Would it Take to Read the Internet if You Printed It? – Jane Hart, a Social Media and Learning Consultant posted an interesting visual on her blog that you might like to share with your students.
  9. Earth-Touch.com - download wonderful wildlife documentary podcasts that will help students appreciate the beauty of our wonderful Earth.
  10. Digital Literacy - Frank W. Baker has posted some excellent material that relates to Visual Literacy as it relates to education. This is a wonderful site to explore and introduce your students to as you try to help them think about the imagery they are exposed to on a daily basis.
