Happy Black Friday! If you went shopping I hope you found great deals. At our house we are still cleaning up after a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner spent with friends and family. I hope you find a few online treasures as you peruse the great resources and videos I discovered and bookmarked this week. In no particular order, I have listed my favorite top 10 sites, blog posts, and videos of the week below. Feel free to share your favorite finds of the week using the comment link found at the bottom of this post. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  1. 8 Characters to Make Your Tweets Sparkle – the Twitips included in this blog post serve as an excellent reminder for those who like to use symbolism in their tweets or word processing
  2. The Most Terrifying Video You’ll Ever See – an interesting take on global warming….thank you wonderingmind42 for posting your thoughts on YouTube.
  3. My Great World – “a free and fast photo community and a visual database of locations, starring the cities and landscapes of our planet Earth. MyGreatWorld addresses anyone willing to photographically depict a spot and share information about it with the global neighbourhood. Uploading and sharing your pictures and thoughts is easy (and no personal data must be entered to become a member) -give it a try!” Seems like a great opportunity for students to showcase their community!
  4. Glitchscape – Larry Ferlazzo shared this neat little music-making Web 2.0 tool on his blog Larry Ferlazzo’s Websites of the Day. Read Larry’s post and check out this addictive music maker.

  8. Litago – create a virtual cow (site is in German, but pretty intuitive)
  9. Animated Explanations – a neat site with a number of animated movies that include tutorials, health information and more. Here is a sample (for those who sit at a computer much of the day). Thanks Diana Dell for tweeting this link.
  10. Gift of the Magi Website – Christmas is closing in on us…celebrate with this much loved classic and a portal of associated links/material that can be used to teach the story.
