Feel free to share your favorite finds of the week using the comment link found at the bottom of this post. Once again, in no particular order, I have listed my favorite top 10 sites an videos of the week below…
- 100 Places to Connect With Other Bibliophiles Online – “Reading is no longer an individual activity. Thanks to online book clubs, book trading networks, social media sites just for librarians and book lovers, kids’ networks and more, connecting with your fellow bibliophiles and gnashing about favorite books is easier than ever. Thanks to these sites, you don’t have to wait for your friends to hurry up and finish the book you just read: chances are, there’s someone out there who’s dying to talk about it too. Check below for 100 different sites and networks to find other bibliophiles like you.”
- Mommy Saves Big Blog - I saved over $50 today after printing off several coupons last night…good stuff!
- Foundation for Critical Thinking Series – excellent introductory information….
- Eight Tracks: Songs That Make You Feel Better – a nice mix of music that really does make me feel better (though I did not like the roll a joint advice that came with it). You can listen to the embedded player below.
- ECSD Training Center: SMART Boards – “The Elko County School District has received grant money that has allowed the purchase of SMART Boards throughout the district. Keep checking this site as more information will be added. If you use a SMART Board and would like to submit a lesson plan, please email it to Susan.” A nice portal of SMART Board resources.
Bulbstorm – “a free innovation community, where individuals, experts, and companies come to share, improve and market new products, services and business ideas. And it’s FREE!”- 50 Awesome Ways to Use Skype in the Classroom – excellent ideas, links, and resources for teachers who are already using Skype or who hope to use Skype in the classroom.
MyThings this application “allows you to create an online catalog of your valued belongings – anything from electronics to antiques to jewelry. You can add them manually, through our product database or automatically save purchase info for certain online retailers. Then we’ll help you find accessories, repair info, manuals, the market value of your things and even help with recycling, donation and selling on eBay. MyThings also helps you connect with other people who are interested in the same kinds of things as you.”
Mutapic – “a visual brainstorming online picture generator. It is a free tool you can use to rapidly create original art.”- AASL Best Web sites for Teaching and Learning – The American Association of School Librarians has selected 25 Web sites that “foster the qualities of innovation, creativity, active participation, and collaboration.
