And the tradition continues…in no particular order, I have listed my favorite top 10 sites, blog posts, and videos of the week below. Feel free to share your favorite finds of the week using the comment link found at the bottom of this post.

  1. 14 Trends of The New Educational Reality – this is the first of a two-part post found on the Education Innovation blog posted by Robert Jacobs (aka EducationInnovation). Read through Robert’s posts and consider adding his blog to your reader…good, thoughtful material for educators.
  2. grasprgraspr, the Instructional Video Network – “Graspr is an online video community that offers high quality instructional content on a wide range of topics. Our mission is to make the world a smarter place by bringing together people who possess different kinds of expertise, and helping them share what they know with others. We want to make knowledge more accessible, and thus empower users to explore new interests, cultivate new skills, and become even more proficient in the subjects they know well.”
  3. silentubesilentube.com – watch YouTube videos “in peace” without all the accompanying clutter. Simply add this bookmarklet to your browser and click on it when you are watching a YouTube vidoe. This would be a great resource to check out if your school permits YouTube use in the classroom…keeps users more focused on content, rather than adjoining content, advertisements, etc.
  4. kidsareheroesKids are Heroes – “Kids are indeed heroes and each one has the power to change the world. The Kids Are Heroes™ web site is dedicated to them. Are you a kid looking for ideas on how you can make a difference? Are you a parent looking for ways to inspire your children?” This is a site you will want to visit!
  5. Sweet Dreams – a somewhat lengthy, but cute animated short movie that could be used to teach younger students about healthy food choices.
  6. JetBlue and United give Twitter a try to sell airline seats fast - an interesting USA Today article…twitter on the go!
  7. Animator vs. Animation – click on the image below to watch an amazing video animation
