I experienced some server issues that delayed my post today. I hope you enjoy the great resources and videos I discovered and bookmarked this week. Please feel free to share your finds of the week using the comment link at the bottom of this post.

  1. Adobe® Kuler™ — “the web-hosted application for generating color themes that can inspire any project. No matter what you’re creating, with Kuler you can experiment quickly with color variations and browse thousands of themes from the Kuler community.” Registration is free. This is an inspiring site for web designers.
  2. superheroSuper Hero Deals – this is a great find for deals and coupons. During this recession every dollar you can save helps!
  3. 100 Terrific Twitter Feeds for Teaching Advice – Online Universities.com posted this list of education-minded twitter-ers. “Whether you are still earning your teaching certification or are just starting out as a teacher, these Twitter feeds offer resources you shouldn’t miss. In these feeds you’ll find advice for the classroom, advice for early childhood education, technology, special education, or advice from others such as consultants or administrators, and much more.” I’m honored to be on the list!
  4. thynewsThy News – “ThyNews helps you find and share news you like. Create a page easily by searching for news sources you trust and arranging them on your page. Simply refresh your customized page to ensure the latest news coverage updated directly from the source. Once you find an article of interest, you can share it via one (or more) of the sites by clicking that site’s icon.”
  5. A vision of K-12 Students Today Video – “This project was created to inspire teachers to use technology in engaging ways to help students develop higher level thinking skills. Equally important, it serves to motivate district level leaders to provide teachers with the tools and training to do so.”
  6. Best Science Visualization Videos of 2009 – the Wired Science Blog has posted these marvelous videos…great resources for science teachers and their students.
  7. Music & Life Video – An Alan Watts Animation
  8. A Teacher’s Guide to the Holocaust – this site map serves as an excellent portal to a serious topic. It was produced by the Florida Center for Instructional Technology, College of Education, University of South Florida.
  9. vocabsushiVocabSushi – “Build your vocabulary through never-ending games powered with real-world usage and tailored to your skill level.” This is a site that I would have included on my Resources that Build Vocabulary post if I had found it sooner.
  10. Have Fun with History.com – a twitter teacher that is part of my PLN, Russel Tarr, tweated a link to this huge list of historically significant video clips, as well as activities and additional resources. Social Studies and History teachers take note! Great stuff!
