I am intrigued by daily blogs that feature imagery and art. I also like quick daily blogs that make me smile. Below you will find links to a few of my favorite sites along with a sample image from each site. I hope you enjoy these daily image blogs as much as I do!

Cats, Dogs, and Captions = Smiles

ICanHasCheezI enjoy my cat and dog unless we are driving long distances. The dog is OK, but the cat cries pitifully whenever the car is moving. Still, it is worth having them with us as we currently own a home (which we visit on weekends and holidays) and our apartment (where we live to be close to my new job). Wherever we live, our animals add a lot to our lives. If you like cats and or dogs you will no doubt enjoy the IHasAHotdogcat and dog captioning sites I am sharing today. Simply select a photo, add your own caption, and voila. Captioned images can be posted on the site, embedded on a webpage or in a blog, or emailed to friends. You can use the images provided on the sites or upload your own photographs. I have focused on the cat and dog sections of the site, but you can also caption the following types of photographs: politics, celebs, news, sports, graphs, etc.

Some of the captions may not be appropriate for younger students. However, I do feel that secondary students (probably high school age) could use images included on the site to develop satirical posters that relate to current events. Review the site before sharing it with students. Also…I found many grammar mistakes on some of the pre-made posters. I had trouble deciding whether grammar errors were intentional or simply a symptom of poor language skills. I suspect many of the errors are intentional.

Feel free to share links to some of your images in the comment section. I have included a couple of my samples below.
